Emergence

This project was completed for a final in the Media & Journalism School at UNC Chapel Hill. I wanted to give my models and other black people a space where they can see themselves in a positive light, to see themselves as beautiful and associate themselves with worth; which is why I adorned them in flowers and gold. I named this project emergence because I’m putting black bodies in view after being hidden by the negativity I’ve been seeing in mass media, especially on social media.
